God dealt with Abraham’s doubt and fear by showing him the stars, but the stars aren’t out during the day. It’s not the stars that solidifies the promise, it’s the integrity of God’s word, and that’s why God accounted it to Abraham for righteousness, not because Abraham chose to believe when he finally saw evidence. It was almost like God saying to him, “I made all of these stars, can I not fulfill My own word?”
